Sermon Follow-up for Sunday, June 28th, 2026

Dear Saints,

Here is a review of the application from yesterday’s sermon on Solomon’s display of wisdom (1 Kings 3:16–28). I’ve also included a daily devotional thought based on this material.

Summary of Practical Lessons and Encouragements.

  • Our daily conduct shapes our reputation, and our reputation influences the way others view us and respond to us. As followers of Christ, we should strive to cultivate a reputation that honors God and reflects His transforming grace.

  • A good reputation is one of life’s most valuable possessions because it bears witness to the character of God. We should regularly examine ourselves to ensure that our words, actions, and habits consistently glorify Him.

  • Sin never remains confined to one area of life. It gradually affects our thinking, relationships, credibility, and testimony. The safest course is not to manage sin but to flee from it while pursuing thankful obedience to God’s Word.

  • The Bible provides the only accurate understanding of the human heart. As we grow in our knowledge of God’s Word, we become better equipped to understand ourselves, counsel others, and live a world thoroughly corrupted by sin.

Daily Devotional Thoughts

Monday Consider the reputation you are building each day. Pray that your words and actions would reflect the character of Christ and bring honor to His name.

Tuesday Ask the Lord to reveal any sinful habit that may be quietly shaping your life or damaging your testimony. Thank Him for His grace and seek strength to walk in thankful obedience.

Wednesday Remember that sin never remains isolated. Guard your heart today by choosing obedience in the small decisions, knowing they shape the direction of your life.

Thursday As you interact with others, ask God for wisdom to show both compassion and discernment. Pray that your understanding of human nature would be guided by Scripture rather than by the assumptions of our culture.

Friday Spend time reading God’s Word and thanking Him for the wisdom it provides. Pray that He would use His truth to strengthen your faith, guide your decisions, and equip you to encourage others in their walk with Christ.
